The ALTC is delighted that the Club re-opened on 29th March and members can enjoy tennis again after a long absence. However the Committee would like to remind members that they MUST follow the Government guidelines and not become complacent:
· Members must ensure that they observe the ‘rule of six’ and social distancing measures
· Do not congregate in groups or socialise at the Club
· The Clubhouse is only open for toilet facilities
· Two people at a time allowed in the clubhouse and must wear a face covering
· Use the sanitisers when entering and leaving the courts and clubhouse
· No spectators allowed
· Children brought to the club must be supervised at all times
· During social sessions play should be continuous
· Leave the club grounds once you have finished playing
The committee is delighted to share the news that we have now appointed Phill Hammond as Head Coach for The Avenue LTC.
Following a thorough and detailed interview process, which included live coaching with some of our juniors, Phill came out on top, and we cannot wait for you all to meet him and benefit from his experience. Phill has been coaching for 28 years, spending most of this time at David Lloyd, Chigwell. He is highly regarded by those who have received coaching from him, including some of our existing members. He is used to working with people of all ages and abilities and clearly shares our love for the game. Phill is looking forward to joining our tennis family on March 29th and developing the coaching programme. Please join us in extending a very warm welcome to him.
We are pleased to announce that this means coaching is back from next week. There will be two “coaching camps” for all junior members and minis on 1st and 2nd April. Full details of this will follow shortly by email invitation and, due to COVID restrictions, there are limited spaces available.
The regular junior coaching programme will resume from Saturday 3rd April and continue throughout April.
The coaching camps and group coaching at the club is free to members and minis for the whole of April. Phill and Antony are looking forward to seeing you all there.
The club is planning to re-open from Monday, March 29th, in line with the latest government regulations. In addition the LTA has also announced that coaching sessions must be limited to 15 participants per session.
As things stand, we are planning to resume coaching for junior members and mini-groups from Saturday, April 3rd until the end of the month. Any additional Easter camps or coaching will be advertised on the website with members being prioritised for places.
The club is not always available to respond to individual queries, however there will be regular updates on the website.
Your continued patience and support are appreciated.
Following a committee meeting yesterday, we are pleased to report that tennis will be permitted from Monday 29th March – at the moment we still need clarification regarding social tennis and coaching activities but we do know that singles and doubles will be possible for all members using the court booking system. Once the LTA have provided more information we will let members know. This is the link to the latest information
Up-date on floodlights / court resurfacing
The Committee is also pleased to report that the floodlight project is almost complete and the surfaces for courts 2 and 3 will be laid by 15th March. So everything will look fantastic when we all return.
